Queen City Corvette Club at City Chevrolet!

Ladies and Gentlemen...Start Your Engines!

The Queen City Corvette Club will be at City Chevrolet on Saturday, May 16 from 9am-3pm for their annual Charity Car Show. This event is FREE to the public. All you need to do is come on out and check out the rows of classic and new Corvettes that the Queen City Corvette Club members will have on display. From the "daily drivers" to the "mint condition," the QCCC has it all.

Throughout the year, the QCCC members raise money through the sponsorship of car shows, 50/50 raffles, and silent auctions. The club has a charity committee that is responsible for choosing the charities that the club will support on a yearly basis. The club supports both local and national organizations. Last year they raised money for the U.S.O, the Matthews Help Center, Operation Homefront, and the National Corvette Museum. As a separate event, the QCCC members "adopt" families of those who serve overseas in the Air National Guard. They are supplied with kids' ages and "wish lists" and are able to help these families have an extra-special Christmas.

To become a member of the Queen City Corvette Club, you need to own or lease a Corvette, and attend at least 3 business meetings and 2 social events within a 6-month time frame. For more information on becoming a member, come on out to the Car Show on May 16 at City Chevrolet and ask for the QCCC Director of Membership, Eddie Burt, or email Eddie at eddieburt@carolina.rr.com.

To inquire on a new Corvette or one of our many great pre-owned Corvettes, please contact our Internet Department at City Chevrolet at 1-866-409-3466 or check out our inventory at www.citychevrolet.com.

Fall for People Pleasers!

We love customer comments! So thank you to everyone who took a moment to let us know what you thought about your recent experience with your favorite City Chevrolet employees! "James Potter and the whole City crew displayed a consistent degree of professionalism and, quite frankly, that is what sets you guys apart. I considered Lexus and after the experience at City, I purchased a Corvette."--Mr. Bisbee "This was the fastest and easiest purchase of a vehicle ever! Everything went so smoothly, from being greeted at the door, to being welcomed by the manager, introducting us to the salesman Adrian Drayton who was very knowledgeable, moving right along to the financial man, to driving out in a new vehicle in about 2 1/2 hours. I have recommended City to others. Thank you for your excellent service."--Ms. Bade "This is the first time with City Chevrolet and I will come back again. I liked the experience with City and Nathan Nejberger."--Ms. Sellers "Top class organization! We were impressed with everyone at City Chevrolet. Patricia Tate was knowledgeable, professional, and customer-oriented. Great experience from when we walked in the door to when we drove out in our new Corvette. Thanks to all!"--Mr. Smith "Joey Black was great and I would highly recommend him to anyone I knew wanting to buy a car."--Ms. Allen "Patricia Tate was great and delivered my vehicle to me. This is my 2nd purchase from her at City Chevrolet. My appreciation to Scott Moore (Sales Manager) for making the numbers work and meeting my payment expectations. Also, the finance specialist was super. No nonsense approach and my paperwork was as explained. It definitely shows taht a "team concept" does work! Thanks!"--Mr. Ertzberger

Who Needs Gas...Go Electric!

Mark November, 2010 on your calendar because that is when you can get your hands on the new Chevrolet Volt. This electric car is powered by a 400-pound lithium-ion battery which makes your commute virtually silent and can get you to and from work without using a drop of gas. For the 75% of America's commuters who travel less than 40 miles a day, this means using zero gas and producing zero emissions. Wouldn't it be great to not have to pay to go to work for a change? Plus, with the rising cost of fuel and the millions of tons of carbon dioxide that are pumped into the atmosphere each year, it's our goal to move away from oil as fast as possible.
This has been, and will continue to be, a major focus for General Motors until its release date. Over 700 GM employees have tested batteries and electronics, and shaped and re-shaped the vehicle itself. Don't think for a moment that this vehicle is all work and no play. With its sleek good looks that trump other family sedans in the industry, you'll want to drive more than 40 miles a day! And what happens when you do? The Volt's gas engine turns on. It generates electricity and feeds it to the battery, which will allow you to go several hundred miles before hitting a gas station or needing a charge.
Although other auto manufacturers have similar visions as the Chevrolet Volt, General Motors has been the most ambitious player in the game. This is largely due to GM's Vice Chairman for Global Product Development, Bob Lutz, who has been the "driving force behind the Volt." His dream of an all-electric car has finally come true. And don't even think of comparing the Chevy Volt to the Toyota Prius, as the Prius can only get you 7 or 8 miles on a fully-charged battery, as compared to the Volt's 40 miles.
The ability to get around without having to fill up once or twice a week at the pump has excited drivers all over the US joining the unofficial waiting list for the Volt. If you'd like to join City Chevrolet's list, please email melissa.mccullough@hendrickauto.com. Keep checking our website and blog for the most up-to-date information about new Chevy products!
